Football, as a sport, has seen an incredible rise in popularity in our country over the last decade. Our shining stars like Kaleemullah, Hassan Bashir, Muhammad Adil, and many others have consistently shown that we possess top-class talent. Yet time and time again, Pakistan as a team have failed to deliver on the international stage. Our football federation sits relaxed as if everything is under control. We are falling further behind our neighboring countries. Football all over the world is played and enjoyed by both the working and middle classes, while the upper class owns the football clubs and enterprises. Having worked with football and Pakistani football especially, the stories we come across affecting our local footballers are not too different from these superstars of world football. Most Pakistani football players belong to the lower working class and make huge sacrifices to train and progress through the system.

Model Town is one of the best residential areas of Lahore. It is located next to Faisal Town, Gulberg, Garden Town, Township and middle of Lahore. Model Town also has its own Football Academy and Football Club, known popularly as Model Town Football Academy (or MTFA/MTFC). The Academy caters to all age-groups with a strict training regime. It is based on the D-block football ground. Another upcoming football club is the Fame Football Club, housed in B-block football ground.

Football is the most popular team sport in Pakistan after cricket and field hockey, and it is organized and regulated by the Pakistan Football Federation. After our visit to Model Town Football Academy, we noticed that our youngsters are full of talent in the field of football, but they are not provided with good opportunities in Pakistan. We interviewed some of the player’s and they are not really happy with the facilities provided in their football academy.

Model town football academy provides them with floodlights in every corner of the turf. The turf is covered with the net all around. The monthly charges are 1700 per person which is very economical for everyone. The main aim of this football academy is to promote football in Pakistan as much as possible.

Through our analysis, we believe there must be a proper organization that will provide excellent opportunities to the players so the individual who wants to pursue his carrier in these specific sports which are football can get all the services in our country and bring honor and make our country proud.

On the other hand, there is a big improvement in our country in the past few years and there are many upcoming talents is ready to play at the domestic and international level, many football clubs are being formed and international players such as Kaka, Neymar and Ronaldinho are also visiting Pakistan.
